The Footwear Brand Teams Up with Global Fashion Leader to Launch Three Bold Styles

Company Release - 3/2/2020 10:00 AM ET

GOLETA, Calif., March 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Teva®, a division of Deckers Brands (NYSE: DECK), announces its Spring/Summer 2020 collaboration with fashion brand and retailer Opening Ceremony. The collaboration, the brands' fourth overall and first since 2016, features three limited-edition styles that combine Teva's signature designs with Opening Ceremony's forward-thinking design approach.

The collection, consisting of three footwear styles in five total colorways, will release in two drops from March to April 2020. Inspired by urban explorers, the collaboration takes an unexpected approach to iconic styles. Each shoe has a futuristic feel, incorporating cues from current trends of shine and metallics that partners Opening Ceremony's passion for expression and Teva's versatile, utilitarian aesthetic.

"We're thrilled to partner with Opening Ceremony for the fourth time on a limited-edition collection. We are honored to work with Opening Ceremony to bring three revolutionary styles to life," said Anders Bergstrom, General Manager at Teva. "This collection is truly innovative and radical."

The first of three drops, the Opening Ceremony x Teva Hurricane Sock, is a hybrid model that takes the socks-with-sandals trend to new heights. Its upper, fully knitted from shiny Lurex yarns, is engineered for a sock-like fit, with adjustable straps that allow for customization. While it wears like a sneaker, it also features easy hook-and-loop closures with recycled polyester straps over the foot to allow for adjustments to find the perfect fit. The Hurricane Sock - OC ($150) is available in unisex sizing in two monochromatic colorways – black and green – starting, March 5th.

"When Opening Ceremony first teamed up with Teva in 2014, Carol and I were excited to partner with such an iconic brand that we loved when growing up in California, exploring the outdoors," said Humberto Leon, co-founder of Opening Ceremony. "With this collection, we wanted to continue taking Teva's innovative, functional designs to create something even bolder than we had before."

The second drop consists of two styles, a Flatform Universal and Hurricane XLT2 Gladiator, which will be released in the next few weeks.

The Opening Ceremony x Teva collection will be available at,, Opening Ceremony stores and at select retailers globally.
